The Lamborghini Countach stands in the pantheon of supercars, and to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Italian automaker has unveiled a reinterpretation known as the LPI 800-4. Strutting its stuff at Monterey Car Week 2021, the Countach LPI 800-4 boasts a similar wedge shape as the original but with decidedly less angular details. The presence of wide horizontal parallel lines in the front fascia and hood, huge triangular vents in the door, and super-low roofline evoke the original, while more modern touches like taillights from the Sián FKP 37 and copious use of carbon fiber all over point to the present. The interior is all modern with huge sport seats, a carbon fiber center console, and all the proper tech of a modern supercar including paddle shifters, a jet-fighter start button, and a modest 8.4-inch touchscreen. Power trumps the original and goes full hybrid thanks to a 6.5-liter V12 good for 774 horses paired with an electric motor that brings the total to 807 horsepower. The new car is limited to a mere 112 units, and they’re already spoken for.
