Lest you still believe Kia builds econoboxes for those who need only the most rudimentary of transportation, gaze upon the EV6, the brand’s first dedicated electric car. More than just a plug-in version of one of its gas vehicles, the EV6 is based on the new electric-only E-GMP platform that it shares with the upcoming sister vehicle, the Hyundai Ioniq 5. The EV6 has a sporty wagon/4-door coupe style that looks like it came out of Europe instead of South Korea. The curvaceous hood and the single strip LED taillight that doubles as a ducktail spoiler give the EV6 mad style and a look all its own. The interior is just as captivating as the body, boasting a huge instrument panel/infotainment display, a floating center console, and digs that wouldn’t look out of place in a top-end Audi. Power hasn’t been confirmed, but it should be similar to the Ioniq 5 with single or dual motor options and 58 or 72.6 kWh battery choices with up to 300 miles of range. It will go on sale this year at a yet-to-be-disclosed price.
