The Ferrari 250 GTO is a legend, and British specialty-car builder GTO Engineering has created its own modern interpretation that pays proper homage to the icon. They call it the Squalo or “shark” in Italian, and the name fits the look of the car. It was going to be called the “Moderna”, but that name has been quashed for obvious reasons. The Squalo gets the signature vents and twin bubble roof, just like the original, but more modern touches like LED lighting, flush door handles, and revised quad tailpipes help make it look very 21st century. The engine is a naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter V12 mated to a manual gearbox that routes power to the rear wheels. Curb weight will be less than 2,200 pounds, so this thing will be righteously quick, indeed. No pricing has been announced, but pre-orders are being accepted. Deliveries will begin in 2023.
