Earlier this week, Adidas announced the latest addition to its 4D line of sneakers: the 4DFWD (pronounced “4D forward”). The 4DFWD is just the most recent innovation from the sneaker brand and features a trippy 3D-printed lattice midsole. The result is a shoe that literally propels you forward as you step down. As you run, the shoe will cushion your step and redirect your energy forward. The ground will literally feel lighter as you glide across the pavement. And, while the Primeknit upper is standard in most Adidas shoes, its support and structure work in tandem with the 3D-printed light midsole. Adidas plans to outfit all of its athletes in the 4DWFWD during the Summer Olympics but a select few will be able to access these sneakers as early as May 15th. A limited number of the shoe will be available to purchase starting at 11 AM EST on the Adidas app in the “Core Black” / Solar Red” color scheme. Adidas also shared that the shoes run slightly big and recommends purchasing half a size down.
