James Bond’s kitted-out cars remain some of our favorite gadgets from the 007 series. Perhaps the finest one of them all is soon to be available for purchase thanks to RM Sotheby’s upcoming Monterey sale starting August 17. The iconic 1973 Aston Martin V8 from The Living Daylights will be hitting the auction block, replete with outrigger skis and rocket booster.

This particular edition is one of four used in filming the Timothy Dalton film and began life as a Volante-spec convertible, previously owned by Victor Gauntlett, the former chairman of Aston Martin. It comes equipped with the memorable Q gadgets that Bond used in the film including mounted skis and the rocket booster that was integrated into a custom rear panel.

Whether you’re an avid Bond aficionado or a classic car connoisseur, this 1973 Aston Martin V8 is an extraordinary piece of automotive history that’ll make you feel like you’re stepping into a cinematic adventure with every turn of the key. Plus, it is technically eligible to be driven in a variety of vintage race events including the Ice St. Moritz. The ’73 Aston Martin V8 is expected to fetch between $1,400,000 and $1,800,000 when bidding starts on August 17th.
