The glock, more affectionately referred to these days simply as a “gat” (even though rappers didn’t coin the term), is a pretty big deal. It pops up on TV, in movies and in the holsters of more than two-thirds of the law enforcement officials in this country. Why? It’s got a seventeen round clip, interchangeable parts and it’s reliable. From a purely cosmetic perspective you need beer goggles to appreciate it because it isn’t all that pretty. What it lacks in attractiveness though it makes up for with everything else. Glock: The Rise of America’s Gun chronicles this famous gun’s rise to power with the good, bad and even ugly aspects of its history.
