What better way to send a message about climate change than to sail an iceberg shaped yacht around the world. At least that’s what designer George Lucian has in mind with his design rendering of the FY Fata Morgana, a 230 foot-long yacht with iceberg-like geometry (no, the biggest part isn’t below the waterline). A combination of angular shapes, creative paint schemes made to look like a snow-covered rock formation, and big glass structures make the Fata Morgana look like a fast-moving colored berg. The idea behind it is to create climate change awareness by virtue of its aesthetics and even its secondary kite-propulsion system that harnesses the wind in a new way. Other aspects of the yacht include a big glass sky observatory, telescope, swimming pool, helipad, and accommodations for twenty crew and guests. Though the design has yet to become a reality, we just hope this thing gets funded by some wealthy environmentalist, if there is such a thing.
