Funny, we’ve been looking for a new vehicle to get through this winter, and we think we’ve found it in the Venturi Mission 03 Electric Antarctic Rover. Like a life-sized LEGO Technic creation, the Antarctic Rover isn’t just meant to handle harsh and perpetually subzero environmnents, it does so by being green so as to keep its protected surroundings pollution-free. It was created by Venturi, known for its electric race cars, and it uses battery technology that’s more advanced to handle the brutal climes. 2x60kW battery packs give it a near 28-mile range on a single charge, and it can reach speeds of 12-15.5 mph while carrying up to 3 people, as well as payload. As cool as it looks, the notion that an Antarctic research vehicle should be consistent in its environmental impact as it the research its passengers perform is the most brilliant aspect of its creation.
