For the better part of July, the cycling world will be focused on the 102nd Tour De France as the best riders and teams compete for the coveted yellow jersey. But the Tour doesn’t just highlight the top cyclists, it’s also a showcase for the latest in cycling equipment. And making a grand entrance is the new Specialized S-Works Venge ViAS, a new aero monster part of Specialized’s “5 minute project.” In addition to claiming it’s the “fastest bike in the world,” Specialized also states the combination of super stiff carbon fiber and aerodynamic design will save about 2 minutes over 25 miles. Pair that with the rest of the 5 minute project and they claim you will save… you guessed it, 5 minutes over 25 miles. Expect to find this under world-class sprinter Mark Cavendish next month.
