The Incredible Motorcycle Models of Pere Tarragó

Pere Tarragó is an artist, craftsman and perfectionist from Spain that has been building models almost his entire life. While most of us eventually lose interest in serious LEGO or Erector Set construction, Tarragó graduated to building his own tools, creating his own parts and a career in creating 1:5 and 1:6 models of classic motorcycles. These aren’t the types of models most of us are familiar with that come with instructions and ready-to-assemble pieces. Tarragó starts with a full-scale motorcycle (Bultaco, MV, Indian, Montesa, the list goes on) as reference material and then creates all his own measurements, plans and parts using traditional motorcycle building techniques and his purpose built tools. Once the brakes, clutch, wheels, etc. are checked for functionality (seriously!), it’s disassembled for polishing, plating and decoration—just like a real bike. 250 – 400 hours later, the entire piece will be reassembled.
