Although the brick-ified version of the ’50s-era microcar isn’t in production, our hopes are high that the folks at LEGO will build it. Straight from of the Lego Ideas community’s Jimmi-DK comes this pretty-much-perfect version of the little Bimmer that measures in at 8.7 x 5.2 x 5.0 inches. Inspired to build to from his childhood memories, Jimmi used 851 pieces to form the Isetta. It includes the famous front-hinged door, the pivoting steering wheel and gauge cluster that are attached to the door, single bench seat, parcel shelf, luggage rack, and the seriously abbreviated wheelbase. Even the differing front and rear axle widths are represented here, as are those unmistakable bug-eyed headlights. It’s a brilliant execution of an iconic bubble car, and if Jimmi-DK hits 10,000 votes, LEGO will review it for production. Here’s keeping our fingers crossed.
