The Jeep Gladiator pickup truck is getting a ton of attention and not just from the civilian population. FCA (Fiat Chrysler America, Jeep’s parent company) has joined with AM General, the makers of the Hummer, to modify the Gladiator for military duties. It’s not just some show truck, either, since it’s debuting at the Annual Meeting and Exposition of the Association of the U.S. Army. The XMT is just one example of a permutation of a military-focused Gladiator since AM General can customize it and also add other military-grade parts to suit specific field needs. Open frame doors, grille guards, all-terrain tires, cargo bed covers, winches, snorkels, communications equipment, etc. are just a small sample of what the Gladiator can accommodate, as well as both gas and diesel engines. The XMT Concept was created to gauge interest, and it may actually get built sometime next year. All we know is we want one.
