Ford Bronco x Filson Wildland Fire Rig

The new Bronco is hot, and the Filson Wildland Fire Rig Bronco is built to handle forest fire kinds of hot. The Wildland was created in a collab between the blue oval automaker and the outdoor goods company. This singular Bronco was built to both celebrate wildland firefighters and to support the National Forest Foundation. The relationship between Filson, Ford, and the U.S. Forest Service goes way back, and gets echoed strongly today with this concept 4×4. It’s based on the new 2021 Bronco Badlands trim with the ultra-rugged Sasquatch Package (17-inch beadlock-compatible wheels with 35-inch mud tires, an electromechanical transfer case, locking front and rear axles, upsized fender flares, increased suspension clearance, and heavy-duty Bilstein shocks). To make it forest-fire ready, the Wildland also receives special equipment in the way of a full firefighting skid, a custom roof rack/firefighter lookout, a 50-gallon water tank, and a high-pressure water pump. It also makes use of fireproof ripstop fabric that emulates Filson backpack material, and special Cerakote ceramic coatings on the grille and roof rack. The body gets painted in iconic U.S. Forest Service green with reflective treatment all over. Too bad it won’t ever see the light of a showroom floor for consumer purchase.
