Pass out the cigars, the Ferrari 488 GTB is getting a sibling. And it arrives in the form of the 488 Spider with retractable hard-top. Not that this was unexpected as there’s hardly a better way to fully experience the wind and roar of exhaust than sans top. And roar it does with a twin-turbo V-8 pushing 661 hp to the wheels, which incidentally makes it the most powerful convertible ever to roll out of Ferrari. Dropping the top requires little more than 14 seconds as it folds neatly behind the seats. And if you just need to fully appreciate the exhaust note of 661 hp, there’s a small rear window that acts independently of the top meaning it can be opened anytime. Official unveiling will be later this fall at the Frankfurt Auto Show with availability next summer.
