The current Jeep Grand Cherokee is comfortable, competent, and rugged despite the fact that it’s long-in-the-tooth. The next-gen version is going to new lengths with a three-row version known as the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. With styling inspired by the upcoming Jeep Grand Wagoneer, this larger variant will come in six- or seven-passenger configurations and will boast new levels of luxury and technology never before seen in a Jeep. The standard Grand Cherokee will get a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 290 horsepower, and the upgraded trims will be powered by a 5.7-liter V8 with 357 ponies. Both engines will be mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. All trim levels get Jeep’s excellent 4×4 Quadra-Trac systems, air suspension, and Selec-Terrain traction management with five driving modes. The cabin will get wood and leather with customizable ambient LED lighting and big instrumentation and infotainment displays. It’s clear Jeep is entering a new era of premium vehicles, and we’ll see the Grand Cherokee L in showrooms this spring.
