1971 Volkswagen T2 Doka

Summer might be officially over, but this vintage 1971 Volkswagen T2 Doka will have you thinking about warmer days all year long. The bus was once used by a carpenter, but in 2016 it’s new owner decided to make it truly special. It’s been refurbished and repainted to bring it to its current stunning appearance. The new coloring is a beautiful Neptune Blue paint job over pristine white vinyl seats, and the configuration is a double cab with a white cargo bed for surfing and beach duties. Body and chassis rust were mitigated, and the rear cargo doors were replaced with panels. Thankfully, the wooden cargo cage was never used, and it shows up here in near-perfect condition, only shortened to stay in line with the cab. The engine is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder mated to a four-speed manual with mountain gearing, and the suspension is outfitted with heavy-duty shocks when it was built. It’s special vehicle that received much love, and its new owner is sure to enjoy it when the long days of summer return.
