There’s a big difference between buying a brand-spankin’ new Porsche 911 S and one that symbolizes Porsche 911 rally racing history. The latter is what you get with this perfect recreation of Vic Alford’s winning 1967 Monte Carlo 911 S race car. The owner sought out a perfect Porsche 911 S model on which to build this homage car, and it has all the right pieces: Euro spec with matching serial numbers, a rare factory limited slip differential, Concours standard coloring, and Recaro sport seats. The owner had the Paterek Brothers, who specialize in Porsche and Vintage car restoration and preservation, create the rally car to its finest details with specific instructions that the car must easily be returned to regular road-going form if needed, an even more daunting addition to the project. He even contacted Vic Alford, himself, who provided valuable details on his faithful steed. Once the fastidious work was completed, Alford described the 911 as “a spectacular, exact nut and bolt re-creation, exactly how we drove it”, which is the ultimate affirmation. This amazing recreation is now up for sale and worth every penny of its $205K asking price.
