We’re not sure what’s more captivating, the floating glass and steel observation deck designed by Network Of Architecture or the Italian mountain range over which it hovers. The structure sits at an elevation of 10,600 feet at the top of the Schnals Valley Glacier Ridge, and its modern design contrasts with the landscape and, at the same time, blends with it thanks to the corten steel materials. The floating construction allows the deck to seem detached as it blends with the pre-existing summit cross. The vertical panels that surround the observation deck open and close views while you move, and the open-air vestibule has a glass and steel balcony that extends over the ridge. What might just be a stunning view has been artfully framed from the observation deck, allowing visitors to see the surroundings from a new perspective.
