Legendary Chicago brewery Goose Island Beer Co. teamed up with indie musician Faye Webster on a limited-release beer collaboration for the recent Pitchfork Music Festival. The limited-edition beer is obviously a helpful piece of marketing – Webster performed at the annual music festival – but proceeds from the beer’s release are also benefitting Fair Fight Action, a national voting rights organization based in Webster’s home state of Georgia.
The collaborative beer, named “Better Distractions” after the title track on Faye Webster’s most recently released album, is an easy-sipping 5.3% peach lager. We gave it a try and loved the light body and peach tart notes that complement the bready lager characteristics. Overall, it’s a perfect beer for the late summer/early fall heat.
