We love ourselves a good folding knife. Easy to carry and deploy, they’re the EDC go-to for most guys. Aside from assisted-open mechanisms, not much has changed, but the era of morphing knives may soon hit us as exemplified by the LYRA. Designed to be compact for easy carry and also fluid and almost poetic in its deployment, the LYRA measures a mere 2” in length when folded but unfolds to 4.7” in total (3.2” handle, 2” blade). It might seem tiny, but it can be held with a strong four-finger grip, and the Wharncliffe D2 steel blade is strong and field practical. Though it might not be the best blade for the rigors of bushcraft, it’s easily more than enough to manage daily duties, and it’s small enough to toss in your pocket or gear bag. Check it out on Kickstarter now.
