If you’re looking for an out-of-this-world addition to your home decor, head to Bonhams New York on April 13. For the first time ever, lunar samples collected by astronaut Neil Armstrong are heading to auction. The lunar dust is still in its original NASA case and this sample in particular had a unique history. According to Bonhams, the bag containing the moon dust was in fact lost. After landing in a private collection, they were returned to NASA who verified they were in fact genuine samples from the Apollo 11 mission. And now they are available for sale. Bonhams estimates a final sale price between $800,000 and $1.2 million.
