Making it easier to be green, AMEX has partnered with Parley for the Oceans recycling company to create their classic credit card using reclaimed ocean plastic. The redesigned but easily recognizable green AMEX card is part of the goal to remove up to a whopping 1 million pounds of plastic that pollutes the world’s oceans. But the effort is more than just the new card since American Express has been working with Parley since 2018 to clean up beaches, educate their own employees, redesign existing plastic products to reduce waste, and also reduce the usage of single-use plastics. The new design and materials will show up in versions of both consumer and corporate cards. Just try not to buy that massive package of water bottles with it.
