Tiffany & Co. Debuts Diamond Engagement Rings For Men

Tiffany & Co. Debuts Diamond Engagement Rings For Men

In 1886, Charles Tiffany, founder of Tiffany & Co., introduced what is now a standard in Western society: the diamond engagement ring. The diamond ring has become a cultural touchstone–largely catered to women, often those in heterosexual relationships. Now, over a century later, Tiffany & Co. announced its line of six men’s engagement rings. Named after the diamond company’s founder, the Charles Tiffany Setting Collection will arrive this month in flagship stores but are currently available for purchase online via Tiffany & Co.’s customer service line. In the 135 years since Tiffany debuted the ring, fashion has progressed beyond heterosexual norms. And the company notes that the theme of the new line of men’s rings is centered on “love and inclusivity.” The brand didn’t specify whether the rings are aimed at same-sex or non-binary couples, or simply women planning to propose to men. Whatever the reason, Tiffany & Co. set its sights on “paving the way for new traditions,” as it shared in a release, and there will surely be plenty of smaller jewelers following the company’s lead. All six rings from the collection are designed with a single diamond, round brilliant or emerald cut, set in the center. The bands are available in platinum or black or grey titanium. Prices vary depending on the cut and the carat but they range from $19,000 to $300,000.
