If you want boutique sneaks that look like they’ve been around a little while, check out the Nike Whitaker Waffle One offered up by Social Status. This exclusive release gets a vintage look with some properly worn aesthetics. Done up by footwear designer Frank Cooke, the Whitaker Waffle One bows to the original Nike Waffle Racer with its iconic sole. There’s a translucent mesh upper, brownish-copper trim along the ankle that matches the aged lacing, and what looks like dried Gorilla Glue on the midsole trim that lends strength to its worn ethos. Even the insole has a vintage-style comic strip. There are a mere 500 pairs that will go on sale at Social Status on February 26th, so be on the lookout.
