Years ago, Nike turned the industry on its head with the release of their revolutionary Flyknit technology, and now they’re doing it again with leather. Nike’s new Flyleather technology is made with at least 50% recycled natural leather fiber that’s combined with synthetic fibers and a fabric infrastructure before being put through a hydro process that uses so much force it turns it into a single material. In other words, Nike Flyleather looks like leather and feels like leather but it’s lighter, more durable and produced with a focus on sustainability and conservation. Nike Flyleather technology is available now in a new, all-white version of the Tennis Classic with limited edition Flyleather versions of the Air Force 1, Air Max 90, Cortez, Jordan 1 and the Tennis Classic, which can be seen in New York during Climate Week NYC and won as part of a raffle here. Regardless of which pair you ultimately end up putting on your feet, there will be at least one pair of Nike Flyleather shoes in your closest in the relatively near future.
