Converse has become the Timbaland of the shoe world. Throw them into the mix in any collaboration and presto – instant hit. The latest in the long list of Converse success stories involves Jack Purcell, Aloha Rag and a healthy heaping of buffalo leather. Originally based on a pair of Converse Jack Purcell hi tops, the standard “smile” on the toe and the white sole remain, but when Converse got in bed with Aloha Rag they upgraded everything but that footprint. The outer has been replaced by patterned buffalo leather. The mid was upgraded with crinkle patent leather and a zip closure. The final piece of the puzzle is a pair of bright orange shoelaces that really pop against the black and white. They’re gym shoes that will look just as good with a suit as they will with denim.
