Vollebak is one of our favorite modern manufacturers particularly when it comes to shirts because they’re willing to break the bounds of the norm to produce something truly exceptional items. They did it with their Camouflaged Dirty Shirts, their Planet Earth Shirts, their Carbon Fiber Tees and now, with their new Plant and Algae T-Shirts. To start, this is a great looking t-shirt. But more importantly than that, it’s built from pulped eucalyptus and beech from sustainably managed forests and algae grown in bioreactor, which makes it one of the–if not the–most sustainable pieces of clothing in the market today. Just listen to them tell it–“as the Plant and Algae T-Shirt is made from nature it doesn’t end its life like any other piece of clothing either. When you’ve finished with the t shirt it biodegrades in the earth in 12 weeks and turns into worm food – you can either bury it in your garden or put it out with the compost.” Why wouldn’t you want to support an initiative like that?
