Nintendo-Switch-release-date

Treehouse Live, basically Nintendo’s private E3, launched last night with a ton of information about their new console. From what they revealed at the presentation, this could end up being a welcome and fun addition to console options. The console’s launching at the fairly standard $300 mark.  Some people are disappointed with Nintendo breaking its trend of being cheaper than the competition, but, personally, this is what we expected. And for $300, you’re getting quite the console.

There’s a stationary kit for your TV, but if you want to go mobile, simply slide the Joy-Con controllers onto the side of the tablet and remove it from the mount. Speaking of, the controllers are an intelligent compromise. They incorporate motion controls without being gimmicks, and an included controller mount makes for a more traditional setup. Nintendo’s also returning to the supremely reliable cartridge game format, making just about every aspect of this console feel like what Nintendo’s been trying to make for years. Also, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a confirmed launch title, so we’re not going to be waiting around for good games like we’ve done before. Expect the Switch in stores worldwide on March 3rd.
