A stock Merc Unimog is a beast, but when you turn it into a practical overlander, its utility grows tremendously. This one is based on a 1987 Unimog U1300L and reworked by Wabi-sabi Overland in 2017. The camper that was added can sleep two in the double bed and seat four in the dinette. There’s also a kitchenette, toilet, solar panels that deliver 600W of power, side awning, winch, LED lighting, Marston Mat sand ladders, a roof rack, cargo boxes, and a rearview camera. Under the hood is 6.0 liter turbodiesel six mated to an 8-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and portal axles with locking differentials. This monster just sold for over six figures on Bring-A-Trailer, and the owner will have no excuse to just stay at home and do nothing.
