We all remember the bizarre behavior, the Letterman appearance, the weird impromptu rap concert. Not long ago, Joaquin Phoenix went off the deep end… and then jumped the shark. And in what is either a stroke of genius or voyeuristic cruelty, his brother-in-law, Casey Affleck, taped all of it. Now the movie of that episode is out. It chronicles the star’s descent from a successful career as a movie star into a hip hop artist with a wicked beard and hair in need of a wash. Along the way we’re shown what it’s like to lead a life under the spotlight, and it likely contains some explanation for all those crazy antics. We hope it does at least, because we honestly want to know what the F was going through his head.
