Goose Island x Japanese Breakfast Collaboration Beer

Goose Island x Japanese Breakfast Collaboration Beer

To celebrate the 2022 Pitchfork Festival, Chicago’s own Goose Island Beer Company has teamed up with musician Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast on a limited edition collaboration beer. Be Sweet Lager is a 4.8% brewed with persimmons offering a soft, fruit-forward flavor. The beer is inspired by Michelle’s love of persimmons and ties into the most recent Japanese Breakfast album Jubilee. The can art is courtesy of Portland illustrator and animator Mary Vertulfo and was inspired by a prop beer bottle that she had actually made for one of Japanese Breakfast’s music videos. Proceeds from the sale of Be Sweet Lager will benefit Heart of Dinner, an organization that works to combat food insecurity and isolation within NYC’s elderly Asian American community through meal deliveries and handwritten letters. The limited-edition Be Sweet Lager collaboration beer will be released on July 15th and will be available exclusively at Pitchfork Music Festival and Goose Island Fulton St. Taproom.
