This shoe is the result of the beautifully colliding worlds of architecture and footwear. Designed in a collaborative effort between ASICS and famed Japanese architect and professor Kengo Kuma, the Metaride AMUs blend synthetic hoops that resemble bamboo with an actual wood-base midsole that enhance the action of running. There’s even a monosock underneath, and all of it has been crafted with environmentalism in mind. The architectural influence is strong thanks to its brilliant use of different materials, shapes and hues. The ASICS striped logo is masterfully incorporated into the shoe’s unique design, and we’re guessing that the beauty, limited production, and the price ($330) will ensure you don’t step in any mud puddles while out on your 10-miler. The Kengo Kuma x ASICS Metaride AMU will goes on sale in limited numbers in Osaka and Harajuku, Japan on December 20th.
