1996 Lamborghini Zagato Raptor Concept

If money were no object, we would go after this soon-to-be-auctioned ’96 Lambo Zagato Raptor Concept like a dog after a bone. The V12 concept was created to replace the Diablo and was designed by Zagato, the Milanese specialty coachbuilder using a slinky carbon fiber body and insane amounts of grey Alcantara suede slathered all over the cabin. The car was one of the first to be digitally designed, but the results look totally organic as if it was birthed from a clay model. The entire windshield, doors, and roof are a single unit and open the cabin via gas struts, making ingress and egress easy for an exotic supercar. The 485-horsepower 5.7-liter V12 is mid-mounted and powers all four wheels via a beautifully gated 5-speed manual transmission. The car is super light thanks to the elimination of traction control and ABS, so acceleration is rapid, indeed. Zagato incorporated its signature double-bubble roof that adds elegance to the already stunning vehicle, and there’s even an ovular air intake just above the rear glass. The car was never put into production, so this is the only one ever made, giving it tremendous value that will no doubt be evidenced by a high selling price come auction time on November 30th via RM Sotheby’s.
