Jeremy Mayer Typewriter Assemblage Sculptures

We know there’s more than the world’s fair share of artists out there who create original works from junk, but Jeremy Mayer stands out because his pieces are actually poetically beautiful in their exclusive use of old mechanical typewriter parts. Inspired from a very young age when he dismantled his mother’s old typewriter, the passion was birthed into something real, and he’s been building hyper-complex versions of insects, birds, mammals, and human figures with thousands of typewriter parts. The sheer level of imagination and creativity has resulted in pieces that wouldn’t look out of place in an elite steampunk museum if there was such a thing. His birds in flight, lounging people, and felines in distress are just some examples of his work, and they easily qualify as brilliant mechanical expressions of organic life.
