‘Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story’ Official Trailer

‘Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story’ Official Trailer

In the second half of 1975, Bob Dylan would embark on the Rolling Thunder Revue, a concert tour that people who were there still talk about to this day. Dylan was already huge at that point, but instead of playing venues that would accommodate his throngs of fans, he decided to play much smaller spaces in an effort to “play for the people.” Netflix just dropped the trailer for an upcoming feature about this tour that’s unlike any other concert film ever produced. That also means there was only one man to make Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story, the iconic Martin Scorsese. Scorsese “creates a one-of-a-kind movie experience: part documentary, part concert film, part fever dream.” In other words, even though it includes recently restored archival footage and the first on-camera interview with Dylan himself in over a decade, parts of it are completely fabricated from Scorsese’s side to create an unconventional film inspired by Dylan’s own self-reinvention. Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese will be released through Netflix and in select theaters on June 12th.
