The LEGO Chevy Silverado

The LEGO Chevy Silverado

We love LEGO because they continue to create projects that speak to the child in us. The best examples are the driveable LEGO Bugatti Chiron, the dramatic fat-wheeled LEGO Batmobile, and now a life-sized 2019 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss pickup truck that looks like the real deal. This off-road bad boy was built at a LEGO model shop in Connecticut by a team of 18 builders over the course of 2,000 hours (that’s 250 8-hour work days). 334,544 pieces later, this Silverado boasts all of the new Silverado’s styling cues like the huge black grille, the C-shaped headlights (that actually work), the curves in the body and the tailgate, and even the red tow hooks that are, quite obviously, not functional. This project was made to tie into the upcoming The LEGO Movie 2 where a miniature version will pull duty. As amazing as this LEGO build is, there’s no functioning engine or interior. In fact, the wheels and tires are made out of LEGOs, so don’t look to go bouldering in it.
