There are a few places you’d expect to see a Porsche. Rich neighborhoods, highways, Europe. Never the frozen wastelands of the northern tundras. But now, with the release of the Porsche 918 Spyder Off-Road Concept Car, the tundra’s just the beginning of where this car can go. In early images, you can see huge off-road tires, a heavy-duty winch, places for those enormous floodlights you usually see on trucks, and a roof rack for whatever it is you need to carry on your roof. There’s a spare tire on it now, but we don’t think that’s the only thing you can put up there. The design is courtesy of Rain Prisk, who’s been making a name for himself by re-imagining sports cars as off-road vehicles. Every one of his designs is beautiful, though sadly, all digital renderings. For the Spyder, all we can do is hope Porsche sees the genius of the new design.
