In a move that echoes their decision to sell refurbished iPhones, Apple’s started providing Apple Watches on their site at pretty reasonably discounted rates. The most affordable options, as you’d expect, are their Series 1 releases, most of which hover between $229 and $249, but you’ll find reductions on Series 2 prices as well. If you stick to Series 1, there’s no shortage of choice. Gold, rose gold, and aluminum cases are all available, all with different bands. The $30 price difference seems to come from the size case you choose, with 38mm being cheaper than the 42mm. This is definitely one of the least risky ways to buy an Apple Watch, and it seems like that’s exactly who Apple’s trying to attract to their product. It’s been unexpectedly difficult for them to convert people to buying wearables, so if they can make the product a little more enticing, maybe people will start to come around.
