While it might not look as slick or operate as well as a modern iMac, this 1976 Apple-1 is a legend… and it actually works. The Apple-1 is a collector’s item and an icon in the pantheon of personal computers. Steve Jobs and Steve Wosniak, the founds of Apple Computer, hand-built these after sacrificing their own personal belongings to build them. The rest, as they say, is history. Don’t expect it to be even remotely fast since it had an 8-bit MOS 6502 microprocessor at 1 MHz with 4KB of memory (your iPhone could crush it), but it does come with a certificate of authenticity from the Apple-1 Registry and is still in its original wood case, along with the original power supply and Datanetics Version D keyboard. It’s up for sale on ebay in near-perfect condition, and the seller is throwing in a vintage Sony TV-115 and video modulator. This is museum-level stuff, so maybe don’t open it.
