For all the love the VW bus gets, little to none of it is earned from its killer performance. That’s what makes the FB1 Race-Taxi so wild. What appears as just a freshly painted 1962 Volkswagen T1 Bulli Van, is actually a beast with 530 horsepower and 558 pound-feet of torque. That power comes thanks to an engine transplant from a Porsche 993 Turbo and the use of some carbon fiber to lighten the load. The work of Fred Bernhard, a Swiss auto tinkerer, the FB1 Race-Taxi took over six years to create. It’s the iconic VW Bus on steroids.

Unzip your coat and have some mulled wine on the house—you’ve arrived at your final gifting destination: The Holiday Gift Guide. It’s like your friendly neighborhood one-stop holiday shop, except instead of balsa wood ornaments, ours is packed with thoughtful gifts for everyone on your list. Future heirlooms, small-but-significant stocking stuffers, and gear for getting out there (or staying in)—are all right here. There’s no music playing in the background though, so you’ll just have to hum Bing Crosby while you click around instead.
