Dodge wants to redefine its beloved and iconic muscle cars with an electrified version. We have to say they’ve nailed it with the vintage-inspired and forward-looking Charger Daytona SRT Concept. Not only does it draw its lines from the ’68 Charger, but it also uses modern aero, electric power, and brilliant sound enhancements to create something truly special. The concept makes use of an R-Wing feature in the front to pull air through the opening above the grille, while power comes from an 800V Banshee electric powertrain that will launch the car to 60 mph quicker than a Charger Hellcat Redeye. The BEV “exhaust” emits sound that will rival its internal combustion counterpart, and that sound will be based on throttle input, drive mode, and speed to create something aggressive an otherworldly. It even has a unique multi-speed transmission that mimics actual shifting. If the production version is anything like this, we’ll take two. Look for an electric Dodge muscle car (and other models) based on this concept to emerge in 2024.
