Kontrast Kreations BMW R51/2 Restomod

From vintage bikes to classic hotrods and European luxury sports cars, Ramon Seiler of Switzerland-based Kontrast Kreations knows his way around a restoration project. Case in point: Kontrast Kreations BMW R51/2 Restomod. If you’re not familiar with the bike this project began with, the BMW 51/2 was only produced for two years in the early fifties, so it’s extremely rare. This particular example started as a barn find built with parts from a variety of different donor bikes. Seiler knew it was going to be a full rebuild, and thankfully, the bike’s new owner wasn’t interested in going full stock. Getting that bike to the gorgeous piece of art you see here took more work than what probably went into the original bike. The engine and gearbox were taken apart and rebuilt. Broken cylinder fins had to be fixed. Fuel tank, valve covers and wheels came from an R51/3. Oh yeah, and pretty much everything else needed some sort of TLC, including the worn-out rubber pieces that were replaced with brown leather. There’s literally nothing we don’t love about this bike.
