Contemporary American artist Daniel Arsham has put quite a few feathers in his cap in his short time on this planet. He made Hourglass, a short film with adidas, along with “Present” sneakers with the same brand. He’s also one of the men behind Snarkitecture. The latest from Arsham is 3018, a solo exhibit at Perrotin New York that is an exploration of an eroded, dystopian future that is a return to form for the artist. The ground floor of the gallery is transformed into a sort of garage with dilapidated, 1:1 scale versions of a 1981 DeLorean and a 1961 Ferrari 250GT California that are reminiscent of the cars from Back to the Future and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The exhibition also includes junkyard objects, iterations of pop art, exposed walls, and wrapped sculptures.
