Staying sane and socially distanced while trying to work from home is easier said than done if you don’t live alone. Danish design firm Stykka wants to make it as easy as possible to convert some unused space into a work area with the StayTheFuckHome Cardboard Desk. Studio chief Jarl Vindnæs had this to say: “Since March 12th, when Denmark almost closed down, we have all been working from home. Some had to share a workstation with their partner, while others had to use the dining table. We figured that others might experience the same problem and we decided to turn this idea into reality.” The relatively simple and sturdy design comes together to form a functional desk in just a few minutes with an experience that’s a bit like origami mixed with model building. If you want to buy one, the Stykka StayTheFuckHome Cardboard Desk is available in either brown or white cardboard with three different heights: standard seated and two different standing height options. The team behind Stykka is on a mission to help as many people as possible, so they also released the production files under open-source CC license for free if you want to download the plans and make one yourself.
