Founded in 1947 by two friends watching nearby Olympic Team Tryouts, Soldier Mountain Ski Area has 1,150 acres of variable terrain including: a terrain park, glades, bowls and tree skiing. It also happens to be the only cat skiing operation (think backcountry, one step below heliskiing) in South-Central Idaho. In 2012, after over a decade of ownership, Bruce Willis (yes, that Bruce Willis) donated the entire mountain to a 501[c]3. Now the entire shebang (inventory, lifts, buildings, bar, vehicles, snow machines, the list goes on) is for sale. Since it’s a non-profit organization, the price is only the debt owed against the business which is–wait for it–a whopping $149,000. For less than the cost of most houses you can own an entire ski mountain. It’s perfect for the man looking for an escape, outdoor mancave, protection from zombies or just thinking about building a Bond lair.
