Candylab Toys has put their own modern spin on retro-style wooden toy cars for more than a few years now. They’re simple, well-made, stylish and just as much fun to race around your desk as they are to look at. Candylab is back on Kickstarter with a new project that combines their love of wooden toy cars with another childhood throwback: the Matchbox car. That’s right, Candylab is now making wooden diecast cars. The original idea was to “make a cute, cartoonishly-proportioned wooden body with fun, splashy colors on a custom-designed die-cast base.” It took two years to get there, but Candylab finally figured out how to combine expert woodworking with die-cast technology to create an affordable, cool and unique creation that’s a modern, retro take on die-cast technology. This isn’t Candylab’s first rodeo when it comes to Kickstarter campaigns, so they finalized all the details and got everything ready to start fulfillment as soon as the campaign ends. And that means they’re guaranteeing delivery in time for the holidays or your money back.
