If you’re looking to tell a story, particularly one about rebirth and transformation, there is no man more suited than iconic filmmaker Guillermo del Toro. Because of a shared history based in Jaliso, the state where all tequila is purchased, del Toro teamed up with Patrón Tequila for a collection unlike anything we’ve ever seen from the brand. The collection includes extra añejo Patrón tequila with “the soul of the agave” and an aged Patrón citrus liqueur (another first for the brand) born of the same agave. When combined, the two are “brought together to create something extraordinary and perfect” as del Toro describes it. We’re all for delicious cocktails, but the packaging and presentation are equally as great—an altar style box unfolds to reveal the two bottles designed to look like a skull and a ribcage. The Patrón x Guillermo del Toro collection is set for a limited release (they’ve said at least a few thousand bottles) this year.
