Since most cable companies, if not all cable companies, offer DVR service, TiVo has had to get proactive to stay relevant. It appears they have done so with Roamio. Roamio is available in three different models – Roamio, Roamio Plus, and Roamio Pro – and offers viewers the ability to record four shows at once (six if you go with the Plus or Pro). With the free TiVo app, you can use Roamio to stream live TV or recorded shows to your iPad or iPhone and, if you go with the Pro, you can store up to 450 hours of HD TV. Based on features, it does seem like the Plus or the Pro are the better options, but overall the TiVo Roamio looks like a worthy adversary to any of its peers.
