The Hangover II used that well-known Hollywood formula of taking what works and adding a monkey. This formula rarely works for epic period pieces or emotional dramas, but it works fantastically for drunken comedies. The Hangover II reunites the guys from the shitshow that was Vegas (you know, just a tiger hiding in the bathroom, Mike Tyson singing out-of-key, and more Advil than you’d find on Courtney Love’s nightstand) and ships them off to Bangkok for an overseas bender. Besides the movie itself, the bonus features you’ll get include a tour of Bangkok with Mr. Chow and profile of the Rolling Stone t-shirt rocking little monkey. The film itself might impart a strong sense of deja vu, but we can’t help enjoying liquor-infused-piece-it-together-Momento-style-mystery movies (it’s a very specific genre).
