Spies are awesome. Thrillers are equally awesome. It follows naturally that the combination of two awesome things would be as awesome as the sum of its awesome parts. In the case of Argo, that’s completely true…. even though it’s technically a drama and not a spy thriller. Based on real events, Argo is all about Ben Affleck heading into Tehran under the guise of filming a fake sci-fi movie so he can exfiltrate six American refugees from the protection of the Canadians. Alan Arkin, John Goodman and Bryan Cranston help seal the deal for the movie (the real one you put into your player and the fake one the movie’s about).
